Science and technology are crucial aspects of modern-day education that seek to explain and describe the natural and physical world. An essential component of STEM education is making connections between skills, concepts, and the practical applications of science and technology. Learning about life systems, matter and energy, structures and mechanisms, and Earth and space systems is integral to this curriculum. The curriculum aims to develop scientific literacy and technological skills in students that will enable them to thrive in today’s rapidly changing world, and become active problem solvers in their communities. Additionally, engaging in STEM education helps students develop transferable skills necessary to meet the demands of today’s global economy and society, and become scientifically and technologically literate citizens.

The science and technology curriculum on Atlas Learning Zone is structured into five strands:
