Overall Curriculum Expectations

The Grade 2 health and physical education program focuses on building foundational knowledge and skills that support mental health and well-being, develop physical and health literacy, and encourage students to lead healthy, active lives. By participating in health and physical education in various settings, such as the classroom, gymnasium, schoolyards, and community, students learn to make healthy active living a part of their daily routine. The expectations for health and physical education are organized into four related strands:
